Ok so i heard today that if you hand in 2.4k rugged leather to the darkmoon faire you get a cool amulet, i am starting to do so now, it will take me ages i know, but meh...all rugged leather would be greatly appreciated

One hand in of 8 rugged armour kits = 20 tickets Amulet of the darkmoon = 1200 tickets So thats 60 hand ins of a total of 480 kits. As each kit requires 5 rugged leather we see that yes it will indeed require 2400 rugged leather  |

don't forget the monetary cost - you'll need to buy thread for this too, and I should imagine it would be rune thread. iirc rune thread is 1g without reductions, meaning at one per kit you'll need 480g -10% for honoured = 432g ... if you're rank3 that would be 384g ... good luck! if you decide to go through with it, can iwmy get some of the RL to make into kits for you? it'll skill him up a bit |

Actually, RAKs use rugged leather only from memory.
It's only medium and thick that need extra mats....

well i've already offered Iwmy for that any RL he gets thru from you he'll make into RAKs and send back always willing to lend a hand - especially if you end up with any turtle scales in the process btw - i need about 60 atm - and probably some more after that  and after i thought i'd cunningly avoided that questline |

Do the turtles in hinterlands drop rugged leather ? if they do i can go there and collect some turtle scales for you, as i rip through the green beasties. |

i don't think so - iirc you need L50+ to get RL, and those beasties are about L48. i can't think of any L50 turtles offhand, but hey ho if you find it easier to kill lots of lower level mobs fast and patch up Thick to Rugged, they might be worth it, but other than that i'm gonna have to get my druid of his lazy ass |

You know you can also hand in Thorium widgets? It's a cheaper option I found.
I read a guide when I done this myself but it's probably long gone now, but in summary hand around 120 vibrant plumes to start with (until you get enough rep to not get anything for them) - You can farm these from the harpies in that cave in 1Kn - took me about an hour in total.
Then start with the RAK's or Throium widgets.

meh, they dont, well they do - but not very often, i killed a few and sent you some rugged hide,thick leather and a few scales i found though
