The move to MC?

For us to run MC, we need more people and more FR.
We need teamwork. We have started to make a move towards this with Jugg's effort on the DLRaid site.

With this in mind, I am posing the question if we can try and set a time - probably a weekend - where we can spend 1.5-3 hours (probably more towards the 1.5) in MC with alts doing trash runs.

Note: We will not be planning on taking bosses - trash only for crafting drops.

We would need between 20 and 30 people for a trash run - depending on experience and gear. All items gathered in these runs would go into a guild bank and be used for creating crafted items needed to help gear up the *continued* helpers in this run first and then hopefully to be used to gear up extra characters as they come in need and can join us. BoE's will be stored initially and used to benefit people that help. Who knows, if it goes well we may end up trying a boss at some point. The main idea is to get our collective FR up where possible.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I think that starting in this way would be a bad way to start; It may be exciting for the first couple of weeks IF you've never done Mc before, but after a few weeks of clearing trash I think that people will get frustrated at the lack of numbers stopping them from being able to progress (and they would want to progress).

However, something that crossed my mind was that a coalition might be the way forward if you did want to do this. The structure is in place to host it at dlraid, although I'd need to modify the back end a bit to seperate it from our other raids. With a coalition, you'd probably be able to get a full group, and still give DreadLords priority on invites - Best of both worlds really.

Just my thoughts anyway. (Although I willsay that I would probably not join a new MC run, even with my alt. as 4 nights a week raiding is more than enough for me)

I was hoping that if we can get a core group grinding trash then we may be able to use them to form a new group to MC with. And yes, I was considering the possiblity that we may be able to use your webpage to deal with coalition as well.

The first step is getting some people that can get items we need to help us get on that way, which is what I think this could be.

I think you will struggle to do this, we were short on 20 man raids the guild doesn't really have enough people to go any bigger atm, and the fact is its not much use unless you are / intend to run MC.

With both Vex and the coalition doing MC not to mention the other raids plus just trying to get gear from standard instances I think this is a bit fast to get into it.

I'm not saying I wouldn't help but time would be a big constraint, one option could be a short term plan a limited run of raids only do it once a week for say 3 weeks just to see?

I think the same here, it's already hard to get 20 peeps for ZG, let alone a group of approx 48 (more if pos. even) people to run MC frequently.
Added to that that there are a lot of DL's that have little reason to go to MC anymore because they already have most of the stuff they want from there.
I havent counted all classes in DL but I think we would have a problem with that balance too, how many druids do we have for example?

My fear is that so many are tied up in other raids, they will stay there. This means that new people we have coming up can't find a place withing DL to go, and would have to move into one of the existing groups we use - or find a new one. In cases previously we have lost a lot of great players due to them moving away (Lichion, Obernix) because it wasn't happening in DL. Because of this I forsee a constant drain at L60 of people moving out of DL for raiding purposes and as such we never get the people to take it off the ground.

It's something that has been bugging me for a long time, I am seeing what I can do about it - as I said, initially I wanted this to be trash runs as we can get that going with less people. As progression goes from there I can believe that we would get more people and start being able to kill bosses. The main problem is getting the foundations in place to start expanding from before we lose too many people.
