Anarchy Online for 3 years before moving on to EVE Online. Tried Star Wars Galaxies and City of Heroes briefly also but at the moment it's only World of Warcraft.
On the offline side I've always been a sucker for the Command & Conquer series of games.
And Civilization is not to be forgotten of course.

I played xbox live games for about a year after getting tired of updating PC's to play new games. Got bored of listening to foul mouthed yanks, so I bought another PC. Played Morrowind on both, then the first mmorpg i tried was a free korean thing called Kal-online. It was pretty bad, but strangely addictive, and then I bought wow 2 weeks after release. I tried swg, but hated it, and I am on the RF online beta at the moment.
I don't think anything could permanently drag me away from warcraft.
I have Reighn of chaos, and Frozen throne, but havent played them much. Good to get the backstory though

I'm not really an old hand at gaming, quite new in fact (unless you count my Spectrum and Commodore 64 childhood  ) and so do not have an impressive list and some of the games have been terrible, and nearly all are isolated rather than on-line. Anyways here goes in no particular order: NWN and all expansions Icewind Dale Gothic 1 and 2 Dungeon siege Temple of Elemental Evil Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 Lion Heart Legacy of Kain Spellforce and crap expansion Vampire Masquerade Civilization 1- IV Final fantasy (favourite is 7) Rome Total war Diablo Morrowind and now DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) |
