Ehum, sadly I read almost nothing but fantasy these days... Don't judge me, I just can't help it! /sob
Favorite series: Wheel of Time - Robert Jordan. It's just amazing, end of story. Can't wait for the next book...
Also, the books about Deverry - Katharine Kerr. Waiting for the next book there as well.
And my new favorite: A Song of Ice and Fire - George RR Martin. Guess what? ...waiting for the next book.
Questions; Why can't people write a little faster, and why do I insist on starting to read series that aren't complete yet?
Edit: OMG, I'm so glad I wrote this post! I just realized that the new book in A Song of Ice and Fire actually came out last November! I just completely forgot to get it... And now I can! Wohoo!

I'm pretty hooked on sci-fi, basically anything by Steven Baxter or Dan Simmons. The series by John F. Hamilton starting with The Reality Dysfunction is a rieting read, greatly recommended. I've read LotR several times in both swedish and english and love it I guess I'll have to read George RR Martin's books as well as everybody is hyping them

Interesting Time by Terry pratchett. The first discworld I read and forever the one I will love the most. Also the first introduction to the Silver horde and who can avoid loving barbarian gramps? After that... all other discworlds (yes i'm hooked, get over it )

I read pretty much all fantasy books. I just re read the first two Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant trilogies, and I'm reading the new third one now. Also a big Pratchett fan, along with Gemmel, Tad Williams, Koontz and King. The Warcraft books arent bad if you like Azerothian history. have only read one; The Day Of The Dragon, and i found it good enough. Not the best book ever, but still an interesting read.

Hmmm...
'The Exorcist' and it's sequel 'Legion' by William Peter Blatty: Both extremely well researched and intelligently written; superbly developed three-dimensional characters. Oh and both genuinely disturbing. Ignore the lame films.
'Bravo-Two-Zero' by 'Andy McNab': a real page-turner - you'll read it in a couple of hours but take with a large pinch of salt!
'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawking: Advanced physical concepts and theories explained in laymans terms and with a sense of humour! Gives the grey matter a work-out and provides fascinating insight into the mind of the man who inherited Sir Isaac Newton's job.

I am lost without my books. Favourites are hard but the authors I have read most by and loved are Tom Sharpe, Prachett (everything, my favourites being the first two "The colour of Magic" and "The Light Fantastic" and the Death Trilogy), Anne Rice (Vampire series, witch series, and her New Orleans stuff like "The Feast of Saints"), Tad Williams (especially the Otherland series), Pullman, Frances Grodon, Stoker and Shelley (Mary and Perce), Tolkien, Herbert, and hundreds more. also love books on medical history, "Freaks" and I recently read an excellent book "Mutants" on how DNA mutates to make "freaks" such as siamese twins and hirsute persons. Did you know that red heads are a dying breed? there is no biologicla reason they are here and so natural selection is fading them out...

I agree with you that otherland is an amazing series, but after reading it through twice I can't help but feel that he could have done it in about ½ to 2/3's of the pages he actually use. Yes the descriptions of the different virtual worlds are amazing, but I just think he spends too much time on them.
Or maybe it's just me... never know
