it occured to me there was no thread on music, and seeing as its a fairly standard topic, lets get cracking  In any order, who are your top 5 / 10 / 100 (or any demnomination you see fit) favourite bands / artists at the moment? i'll start, (no order to em) 1) My Chemical Romance 2) Trivium 3) Bloodhound Gang 4) LostProphets 5) Blink 182 ( old favourites...) 5) Adam kay & Simon Biswas 6) Funeral for a friend 7) Tenacious D ( ultimate singalongs ) 8) Green Day (only some songs though) 9) Eminem ( his old stuff ) 10) a host of various chillout bands ( R.E.M, Bob Marley, Cyprus Hill) i can't think of any more  although i did just find a playlist called "warcraft mix" on my iTunes looking forward to seeing your responses Grum |

Not sure about the order and I may miss someone out but the number one is definitely correct as she is the easily the greatest singer-songwriter of my generation (imho) 1. Kate Bush 2. Marillion 3. Pink Floyd 4. Adam Ant 5. Yanzi Sun 6. Dire Staits 7. Peter Gabriel 8. Iron Maiden 9. Helloween 10. Yuki Xu I also listen to a lot of old school hip-hop like Grandmaster Flash, Run-Dmc, Public Enemy etc. I also like C64 music. My taste is quite varied and i have 700+ albums |

Cool thread Grum, as music is my first love in life. Tho I'm not really playing at the moment, a spent a good part of my life in bands. Even had a record contract once with my band Beauty School Dropout. We did not bad. 3 singles, an LP, and tracks on a few comp CDs. 4 UK tours and a slot at T in the Park. Anyway, here's my list -

Good post Grum been waiting for someone brave enough to start it. Very tricky to think of 10 fav bands but since Wow is down I will give it a go. 1.) Marillion (Uncool band that I love, have even been to Marillion weekenders at holiday camp my shameful secret, might have seen you there Yanzi ) 2.) Super Furry Animals (Summer Festival Favorites 3.) Soundgarden 4.) Wilco 5.) DJ Shadow 6.) Radiohead 7.) Pink Floyd 8.) The Flaming Lips 9.) Queens of Stone Age 10.) The Pixies, Mogwai, Mew, Orbital, Ben Folds Five... No its too hard to think of just 10 fav bands. nice list windy, can be hard to choose, and i learned to play a song by radiohead on the drums a couple weeks ago (no idea what its called) just to ammend an earlier comment, does anyone else play instruments? i'll start, i play drums (woo! hit things and make noises!  ) |

I have a radio show which goes out world wide. the website is www.blast1386.com and my show is on from 2-4 GMT on Wednesdays afternoons - ask for a tune and it will be yours As for favourite bands...I go through phases of listening to the same band for months, usually the same album over and over again, then other times, tunes have to be changed after the first verse or I get bored and that happens for weeks too. I do not believe I have 10 favourites, I have lots that I adore, no that rise significantly above the rest.
